How do I Import Comment Banks?

Comment Banks can be imported into Sentral for use in Academic Reports. This requires a two stage process. Firstly, the importer requires a CSV file, the format of which is explained below. These can be created in EXCEL, other spreadsheet application, or text editor of choice. Finally, importing the Comment Banks into Sentral Academic Reports.
 

Prerequisites

Administrator level access to Sentral Reports.
CSV file with specific headings defined below.

 

Instructions

To prepare the CSV File for Import:
Your headers should be:
"type","comment","code","category","tags"  
Definitions of fields:
  • type: Allowed values are STARTER or COMMENT - this will define which tab the comment displays under when using the Comment Wizard, Starters or Shared Comments respectively.
  • comment: The comment starter, including the standard merge fields of {first_name} {fullname} {he_she} {his_her} {him_her} and {himself_herself}.
  • code: Your own code for reference to the comment
  • category: The Category you wish the Comment Bank to be imported to. You do not need to create a new Category - if it doesn't exist prior to import, the importer will create it automatically for you.
  • tags: Identifying tags of your own preference for locating comments.

To import comments, go to:
  1. Academic Reports module.
  2. Select Setup Academic Reporting (top right).
  3. Select Comment Banks (left menu).
  4. Select Import Comment Banks.
