What is the difference between a start date and enrolment date?
The
Start Date is when the student record is permitted to be transferred to the rest of Sentral. Think of it like an additional filter that sits on top of all the other requirements for the student record become visible in Sentral.
The Start & End Date indicate what period an enrolment record is considered valid for within an Academic Period. To withdraw a student as an active enrolment, please set an end date, Save and click Process Student Departure to enter in details of the student's reason for leaving, new school, etc.
For example, if a student has a start date of today 7th of November and an enrolment date for the 1st of December, the record will filter through to the rest of Sentral on the next data sync with the student enrolment date set to the 1st of December. The enrolment date determines when they officially begin at the school for tracking of attendance data, so the student will not appear as markable on any rolls until after the 1st of December.
