Can I mark a roll in PxP for Multi-Periods?

This functionality allows you to treat multi-period classes as a single roll. These rolls can be marked once, and any student absences will cover the multi-period.

Note: the current requirements for a roll to be treated as valid multi-period marking are as follows:

  • The same class must occur consecutively across multiple periods

  • The class must be taught by the same teacher across all periods in the set

  • The class must be taught in the same room across all periods in the set

Note: this needs to be turned on in PxP > Setup > Settings > Multi-period Roll Marking. (Scroll down, this is the last option).

If set to Yes, accessing a roll that meets the criteria will take you to the multi-period view.
If set to No, all rolls will use the single-period view. By default it will be set to No.

Note: it will still be possible to switch back to a single period view of each class if this is enabled.

Marking the Roll

  1. Click on the first period of the multi-period.

The PxP roll marking screen displays.

Note:
The Start time will indicate the beginning of the first period.
The End time will indicate the end of the last period.

2. Mark the roll as previously outlined in steps above. If a student is marked absent, this will display they are absent for all periods.

If a student is late to class, the time shows for both periods, absences will be inserted into the appropriate period.
If a student needs to leave class early, the time shows for both periods, absences will be inserted into the appropriate period.

3. Click on Submit button.

View Switching
If you need to access an individual period:

1. Click on Switch to Single Period View button. The individual period will display, and the roll can be marked and managed as a single period time.

2. Click on Switch to Multi Period View button to return to the multi-period view.

Note: Multi-period marking is compatible with syncing absences to School Attendance.  Whole or partial absences will be created for the periods marked.
